NO ONE WILL READ THIS

The story goes that when the Pope was considering how to brief Michaelangelo on painting the Sistine Chapel, he struggled for the right words. One advisor suggested he tell Mike to paint a colorful ceiling, but that felt wrong. Another recommended he ask for bible scenes, but that felt too literal. Finally, in a dream, an angel suggested that the Pope tell Michaelangelo to celebrate the glory of God. That did the trick. There’s the value of carefully considering every word when developing the positioning and messaging for a brand. The clearer and more concise the wording, the better the outcome. Although there is no plaque with the words “Celebrate the Glory of God” in the Sistine Chapel, no one misses the message.
